Schebler Donates Time and Equipment to Girl Scouts’ Camp Liberty

Schebler is giving back to the community with a donation of material and labor to install three residential high-efficiency furnace and air conditioner units and spiral ductwork at the Hy-Vee Activities Center located at the Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa’s Camp Liberty in New Liberty, Iowa.

Assets donated include three complete Carrier units and related equipment from Habegger Corporation in Rock Island, spiral ductwork from Adel Wholesale in Bettendorf, and material for special ductwork from Schebler. In addition to the donated assets, three Schebler employees built the items on their own time and 10 employees each donated 11 hours on Saturday, April 22nd to install the equipment and ductwork.

Shelly Wells Cain, Vice President of Fund Development & Marketing at The Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois says, “Thank you for reaching out to all of your suppliers and vendors to donate over $36,000 of equipment, materials, and labor to the Hy-Vee Activities Center at Camp Liberty. Your support helps Girl Scouts build girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place.”

Kevin Lesthaeghe from Schebler says, “We are so thankful to have been presented the opportunity. We have many employees at The Schebler Company who have daughters involved in Girl Scouts. It was extremely rewarding to be able to use our talents to give back to an organization that empowers young girls to change the world.”
